Hoxton

Original home of the warehouse flat, the area became popular in the early 90's as artists such as Damien Hurst and Tracey Emin began exhibiting their work at the White Cube gallery.

It now teems with musicians and artists, originally drawn by the cheap space and character of the place, but now as much by its reputation as a place to be seen. While it has now joined the mainstream somewhat it has a definite edge you won't find in the West End and completely different feel.

In fact many West End galleries have been drawn by the borough's self-confident image and have opened or are opening branches in the area. As well as the White Cube, Hoxton House is worth visiting. There are also sometimes exhibitions in Hoxton Square.
