Preem is an Brick Lane instiution that isn't far from the bars and boutiques in Hackney and Spitalfields, making it a convenient meeting spot for nights out. Regulars love the Prawn Jalfrezi – a Bengal recipe using fresh coriander and green chillies; the Chicken Tikka marinated in spices and homemade yoghurt; and the Lamb Dansak in a lentil sauce. The food tastes just as good, if not better than other restaurants but the secret is in the way it's cooked. Most of the curries are cooked in the oven and oil is kept to a minimum.
