Baishakhi Mela in Brick Lane 2010

A Baishakhi Mela in Banglatown Brick Lane is the largest celebration of the Bangla New Year outside of South Asia. This huge annual community celebration of music, performance and dance in the streets around Brick Lane is a key event in Tower Hamlets? cultural calendar.

With a wide range of music and entertainment across three music stages in Weavers Fields and Allen Gardens, a new Mela Family Zone, food and stalls and a colourful procession along Brick Lane the Mela offers a programme that will appeal to all.

Please note that photographs and video footage will be taken at the event and may be used for publicity purposes by Tower Hamlets Council only.

She is a special grade artist in BTV and Betar. She basically sings Tagore songs but she also sings old Bangla songs. This year she won Citycell-Channel i music award in Rabindra Sangeet.
